IMPORTANT: feeding Diabetic Special usually improves the dog's insulin sensitivity. When initiating this diet, it is highly recommended to monitor blood glucose so that insulin dosage can be adjusted. Diabetic Special Low Carbohydrate Canine should be fed for the pet's lifetime.
Low Starch- A low carbohydrate intake lowers postprandial blood glucose.
Gluco Moderation - Mixing cereals of low glycaemic index (barley, corn) in conjunction with the gelling action of psyllium mucilages reduces postprandial hyperglycaemia.
High Fibre - Dietary fibre slows small intestinal absorption and improves glycaemic control in diabetic dogs.
Anti Oxidant Complex - The synergistic antioxidant complex neutralises free radicals, helps maintain healthy DNA and promotes health of the immune system.
Diabetic Special is for the nutritional support of dogs with:
- Diabetes mellitus
- Constipation
- Large intestinal diarrhoea
- Gastric motility disorders
Not recommended in cases of:
- Pregnancy, lactation, growth
