I use these ferret trays in all my rat cages as they are a great size and shape and easy fo the rats to get used to.
The lip on the outer edge is high enough to keep the litter in without making it difficult for the rats to enter and exit the tray.
I find open trays such as these one preferable to covered rabbit trays as with the covered ones, the rats have a tendency to sleep in there!
The Savic Rody trays are really sturdy and stand up to a pretty good nibbling. they are also easy to clean and easy to attach to cage bars.
