Frontline is THE veterinary recommended non-prescription flea treatment for both dogs and cats. Recommended by our own in house vet ~Frontline Spot On is for the treatment and prevention of infestations by fleas and ticks in cats, and as part of a treatment strategy for Flea Allergy Dermatitis in cats. Cats are quickly protected against fleas by the simple to use Frontline Spot-On pipettes.

Frontline Spot On Cat is useful for the treatment and prevention of infestations of fleas, ticks and biting lice on cats and provides protection against ticks for up to 1 month and 5 weeks protection against fleas. Please note that Frontline Spot On Cat will not prevent fleas or ticks attaching themselves to your cat but they will be killed in the first 24-48 hours. It can be used on kittens from 8 weeks of age providing that they weigh at least 1kg.

Frontline Spot On Cat Dosage

Administration is achieved using a pre-measured pipette directly onto the cat’s skin. Cats should be weighed accurately before administration. Ideally, apply behind the cat's neck and parting the hair to ensure the frontline is applied to the skin directly.

1 pipette of 0.5 ml per cat (approximately 7.5 - 15 mg/kg).

Method of administration for Frontline Spot On for Cats

Hold upright. Tap the narrow part of the pipette to ensure that the contents are within the main body of the pipette. Break back the snap-off top of the cat spot-on pipette along the scored line. Part the coat between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the spot-on pipette on the skin and squeeze gently to empty its contents onto the skin, preferably at two spots, one at the base of the skull and a second 2-3cm's further back.

While using cat frontline care should be taken to avoid excessive wetting of the hair with the product since this will cause a sticky appearance of hairs at the treatment spot. However, should this occur, it will disappear within 24 hours post application.

In the absence of safety studies, the minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks.

It is important to apply cat frontline to an area where the animal cannot lick off and to make sure that animals do not lick each other after treatment. If licking does occur, a brief period of hyper salivation may be observed, due mainly to the nature of the carrier. Ensure that treated animals do not groom each other after treatment until dry.

Remember to keep on using Frontline Spot On for cats regularly to keep your cat protected from fleas and avoid infestation.

Ticks must be removed quickly, completely and properly. Early removal may reduce the risk of infection of some tick-borne diseases as Lyme disease.
