• Moving home is a stressful time for a young pup – ensure fresh water bowls, a comfortable bed and plenty of toys (playing is an important part of growing up)
• Make sure your garden is safe for a puppy – he will need to go outside to toilet.
• Arrange for an area of the house to be your puppy’s “cubby” – it should be small, quiet and cosy and an ideal place for your pup to stay while you are not home.

• A crate can be a useful item for a puppy that is unsure of open spaces – they can also be practical for toilet training.
• Ensure you have essentials such as a collar and lead
• A puppy's bed should be kept in a draught free area - the kitchen usually has easy clean floors in case of accidents.
• Check your home scrupulously for anything that might pose a danger to your puppy. If necessary crawl around on all fours to try and spot anything lower down that might be a hazard.
