Over time, dirt will accumulate in aquarium gravel and sand, potentially leading to pollution of the environment. In order to keep fish healthy, it is important to keep the substrate reasonably free from dirt, and the easiest way to do this is with a GC Hydroclean gravel cleaner. Rather than having to take the gravel of the aquarium, the Hydroclean allows you to hoover up dirt, during the course of a normal water change, or as a separate procedure. Unlike other gravel cleaners, the Hydroclean can be started automatically, without the need for manual siphoning. The TetraTec Hydroclean comes with a 1 year guarantee.

How it Works
The Hydroclean works by automatically creating a siphon, which removes water from the aquarium. The power of this siphon is enough to lift dirt out of the substrate, without removing the substrate itself.

How to Use
To start the siphon, simply hang the siphon pipe into a bucket, and plunge the Hydorclean up and down until a flow of water starts. Then, dig the Hydroclean into the gravel and lift it up again, to pull dirt from it. When replacing any water that has been removed from the aquarium, remember to use AquaSafe to make it safe.

The TetraTec GS45 is highly effective at cleaning aquarium glass quickly and with minimal hassle. Built specifically for the removal of algae from aquarium glass, it consists of a hinged blade holder attached to a long, plastic handle, to enable glass to be cleaned easily, without the need to get wet. The GS45 safely uses replaceable blades, which are more efficient than traditional scourers at removing algae. Side protectors ensure that silicon sealant is not damaged during the cleaning process.

How it Works
The plastic handle of the GS45 is designed to float, so as to avoid it sinking if it is dropped. The blade-holder is hinged, so that it can be kept flat against the glass, even at awkward angles. The double-blade system means that algae is cleaned twice in one run, making its removal faster and more effective. Blades can easily and quickly be replaced, and a protective edging ensures that silicon seals are not damaged during the cleaning process.

How to Use
