Product details

Bakers Complete in bacon and liver with country vegetables is a dry dog food with all the nutrients your adult dog needs for a healthy diet.
How it works
Bakers Complete combines tender chunks of meat and crunchy biscuits to add a bit of variety to your dog's dinnertime. As well as being tasty, the recipe is also full of added vitamins and minerals to help keep your pet active and healthy throughout their adult years.
The recipe is fortified with vitamin D to support joint health and strengthen bones. This is essential for an active lifestyle, as these body parts can become sore and swollen as your dog ages. The biscuits are made from wholegrain carbohydrates, which release their energy slowly and keep your pet feeling satisfied for longer after every meal. The high-quality protein in the recipe helps to support their lean muscle mass, keeping them trim and healthy. Finally, a dash of chicory root helps to keep your pet's digestive system healthy, so they get the most goodness they can from every bite.
Key benefits

  • contains chicory root to help digestion
  • fortified with iron for healthy blood
  • added vitamin D supports bone and joint health
  • wholegrain carbohydrates release energy slowly
  • contains high-quality protein to boost lean muscle mass
  • delicious flavour
  • tender meat and crunchy kibble for a varied texture

When to use it
This dog food is nutritionally complete, so it can be fed to your pet every day at their regular mealtimes. You should try to feed your dog twice a day, and check the back of the pack to find out how much they should be eating. It's important to avoid overfeeding, as this could lead to your pet becoming overweight and developing complications like high blood pressure, diabetes and osteoarthritis. Different factors can contribute to how much you should feed your dog, such as their size, age and activity levels. If in doubt, call your vet for a chat.

These amounts are averages based on moderately active dogs at normal environmental temperatures. Individual needs vary and feeding should be adjusted as required to maintain your dog at a lean, healthy body weight.

Fresh, clean drinking water should always be available.

Feeding The Correct Amount

It is important to remember however that these figures are guidelines only, and there are several factors to be taken into account when assessing your pet's nutritional requirements : -

  1. Activity level
  2. Temperament (stressed animals burn off more calories than relaxed ones)
  3. Metabolism (every animal is an individual with his or her own speed of metabolism; this means that 2 dogs of the same age, breed and weight could have different daily calorie requirements)

In order to provide the correct portions when feeding your dog or cat, it is also helpful to assess your pet's appetite, visual appearance and stools. Whilst poo watching does not sound particularly pleasant, it is one of the best indicators of health. Increased frequency of passing faeces, production of large quantities of stools of loose motions are often frequent signs that an animal is receiving more food than he or she requires.

It is important to obtain an accurate weight for your cat or dog, and also to weigh out the food. Guessing on both accounts gives a large margin of error.
