Product details

Chicken Bakers Complete Meaty Meals is a dry dog food with a softer texture.
How it works
Rather than being hard and crunchy like other dry dog foods, Chicken Bakers Complete Meaty Meals kibbles are tender. As well as being tasty, this dried food is also packed with goodness. Extra minerals include vitamin D, to help strengthen teeth and bones, and iron, which is essential for healthy blood. Added antioxidants help to boost your pet's natural defences by fighting off free radical molecules in their bloodstream, while high-quality protein helps to increase lean muscle mass and gives plenty of energy for long walks.
Key benefits

  • 2.7 kilogram pack
  • contains iron for blood health and vitamin D to strengthen teeth and bones
  • high-quality protein is used to improve muscle mass
  • fortified with antioxidants and minerals for overall health
  • complete dog food can form the basis of a healthy diet
  • soft kibbles with rich chicken flavour for a really meaty experience

When to use it
Dogs are all different, and the amount you should feed them will depend on their breed, age and level of activity. Generally speaking, dogs should eat twice a day and portion sizes should follow the recommendations on the back of the pack. This can help to avoid overfeeding and the risk of obesity.

If your pet becomes overweight, it can lead to more serious health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure and osteoarthritis. If you're unsure about your dog's size, or how much you should be feeding them, bring them to the vet for a check-up. The vet will be able to weigh them and give you advice on diet and exercise.

One half pint mug holds approximately 85g of Bakers Complete Meaty Meals. This feeding guide is based on average requirements for moderately active dogs at normal environmental temperatures. Individual needs may vary and feeding should be adjusted as required to maintain your dog at a lean, healthy body weight. If fed as a treat or meal complement then the quantity given should be instead of an equivalent volume of normal dog food. Puppies and pregnant bitches should be fed to appetite.

Fresh, clean drinking water should always be available.

Feeding The Correct Amount

It is important to remember however that these figures are guidelines only, and there are several factors to be taken into account when assessing your pet's nutritional requirements : -

  1. Activity level
  2. Temperament (stressed animals burn off more calories than relaxed ones)
  3. Metabolism (every animal is an individual with his or her own speed of metabolism; this means that 2 dogs of the same age, breed and weight could have different daily calorie requirements)

In order to provide the correct portions when feeding your dog or cat, it is also helpful to assess your pet's appetite, visual appearance and stools. Whilst poo watching does not sound particularly pleasant, it is one of the best indicators of health. Increased frequency of passing faeces, production of large quantities of stools of loose motions are often frequent signs that an animal is receiving more food than he or she requires.

It is important to obtain an accurate weight for your cat or dog, and also to weigh out the food. Guessing on both accounts gives a large margin of error.
