Product details

Eukanuba Dog Adult Large Breed Chicken is made to meet the needs of larger dogs.

What it's for

Bigger-breed dogs can benefit from a little extra nutritional support. If your pup’s on the larger side, it can put pressure on their joints and this can lead to mobility issues in later life. Larger breeds also need an energy boost to keep them going.

You can easily tell if your pup could use some support. Difficulty walking, running or playing, moving less or holding out a sore limb could all be signs of mobility issues.

Giving your dog a food that’s made to stop painful joints is an easy way to help them. Eukanuba can replace your pet’s regular daily food. Check the feeding guidelines to make sure your dog is getting the right amount for their height and weight.

Key benefits

  • nutritionally balanced to meet the needs of bigger breed dogs
  • FlexMobility supports the joints and soothes inflammation
  • added glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate help to repair cartilage
  • antioxidants support their immune system
  • good fatty acids keep their coat glossy
  • highly digestible and easy on their tummy.

How it works

Eukanuba is a complete food that’s packed full of everything larger breeds need to stay healthy and strong. It uses a mix of nutrients and vitamins to support them inside and out.

FlexMobility (a special joint-management system) helps to keep joints healthy, which can otherwise become sore and inflamed after years of running and playing. Added glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate helps to repair and rebuild cartilage (the tissue that connects joints together) when it becomes damaged and worn down. As well as keeping them fit on the inside, this mix keeps them strong outside too.

With plenty of vitamin E, this mix supports your pup’s day-to-day health – it’s great at fighting ‘free radicals’, which are nasty molecules that can cause a lot of serious diseases. Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids help to protect the skin barrier and keep their coat healthy and glossy.

Feeding The Correct Amount

It is important to remember however that these figures are guidelines only, and there are several factors to be taken into account when assessing your pet's nutritional requirements : -

  1. Activity level
  2. Temperament (stressed animals burn off more calories than relaxed ones)
  3. Metabolism (every animal is an individual with his or her own speed of metabolism; this means that 2 dogs of the same age, breed and weight could have different daily calorie requirements)

In order to provide the correct portions when feeding your dog or cat, it is also helpful to assess your pet's appetite, visual appearance and stools. Whilst poo watching does not sound particularly pleasant, it is one of the best indicators of health. Increased frequency of passing faeces, production of large quantities of stools of loose motions are often frequent signs that an animal is receiving more food than he or she requires.

It is important to obtain an accurate weight for your cat or dog, and also to weigh out the food. Guessing on both accounts gives a large margin of error.

Changing Food Brands

For a successful diet change, we recommend following the feeding pattern below. The daily feeding amount should be split into two equal amounts and the proportions of new food increased over the first week as illustrated.

TOP TIPS: For those dogs who do not make eating a priority, here are some additional points:
- Reduce the number of tit-bits given during the introductory period
- If your dog has been used to eating wet food, moisten with warm water.

DAY 1-2 75% Original Diet
25% New Food
DAY 3-4 50% Original Diet
50% New Food
DAY 5-6 25% Original Diet
75% New Food
DAY 7 100% New Food

  • All my dogs, over the past 20 years, have been fed on Eukanuba. I think it's wonderful how one can get this product according to breed, size of breed etc. All my dogs have had healthy coats, have been healthy and have enjoyed eating their food. I have only just recently found this web site and am amazed at how much money I will now save by buying from Pet-Supermarket! I do strongly recommend this product for anyone looking for a good quality dog food, or for anyone wishing to try something new.

  • We have a 2 yr old Lab and a 2yr old Springer and both have been on Eukanuba from puppies. They love it, we have never had any upset tummies, even as puppies and they have developed into 2 very strong , healthy and handsome boys with beautiful coats covering muscular bodies. We would never consider changing their diet and Pet Supermarket give great deals.
