Product details

Your dog can keep on chasing that ball well into their later years with Eukanuba dog mature and senior medium breed food.

What it’s for

Just like us, dog’s nutritional needs change as they age. Chasing Frisbees, running through the woods and jumping on sofas wears down muscles and joints over time. Then there are conditions such as digestion issues, gum disease and a dull coat, which crop up with age.

Thankfully, your dog’s diet can help prevent and ease these problems and their symptoms. With Eukanuba dog mature and senior medium breed food's mix of natural minerals, vitamins and antioxidants, your pal's tail can thump on long into their senior years.

Key benefits

  • antioxidants strengthen your dog’s immune system
  • high-quality proteins maintain strong muscles
  • prebiotics and beet pulp to soothe the stomach
  • calcium supports strong teeth and bones
  • omega-3 and -6 oils for soft skin and shiny coat
  • no artificial colours, flavours or additives
  • perfect mix of nutrients for dogs age seven or older.

How it works

This food is made especially for furballs age seven or older. It mixes high-quality carbohydrates and proteins for all-day energy and supports your dog's ageing muscles and joints. Prebiotics and beet pulp are added to the mix too. These soothe your pet’s stomach and help with digestion. Calcium protects strong teeth and bones, while omega-6 and -3 oils nourish skin and give your pooch a shiny coat.

Last but not least, there are no artificial colours, flavours or additives in this food, so your dog won’t suffer a bad reaction. Natural vitamins, minerals and antioxidants help support your dog's everyday health as they age gracefully.

Feeding The Correct Amount

It is important to remember however that these figures are guidelines only, and there are several factors to be taken into account when assessing your pet’s nutritional requirements : -

  1. Activity level
  2. Temperament (stressed animals burn off more calories than relaxed ones)
  3. Metabolism (every animal is an individual with his or her own speed of metabolism; this means that 2 dogs of the same age, breed and weight could have different daily calorie requirements)

In order to provide the correct portions when feeding your dog or cat, it is also helpful to assess your pet’s appetite, visual appearance and stools. Whilst poo watching does not sound particularly pleasant, it is one of the best indicators of health. Increased frequency of passing faeces, production of large quantities of stools of loose motions are often frequent signs that an animal is receiving more food than he or she requires.

It is important to obtain an accurate weight for your cat or dog, and also to weigh out the food. Guessing on both accounts gives a large margin of error.

Changing Food Brands

For a successful diet change, we recommend following the feeding pattern below. The daily feeding amount should be split into two equal amounts and the proportions of new food increased over the first week as illustrated.

TOP TIPS: For those dogs who do not make eating a priority, here are some additional points:
- Reduce the number of tit-bits given during the introductory period
- If your dog has been used to eating wet food, moisten with warm water.

  • This food is very high quality, I have an 11 year old Springer Spaniel so had allergy s to the supermarket food. I bought this food and now she is full of beans. This food really seems to fill her up, the vet reccommended i feed this food and I will never be turning back to the cheap food from the supermarket. It is worth every penny.

  • My dog is pretty fussy and would only eat bakers choice, one day I thought I would make a change, I got Eukanuba adult chicken she absolutely loved it and now all she eats it has made so much difference she is more content and so much more happier and more healthier she now runs and plays as if a puppy her coat is a lot more healthier too I would definitely recommend this product to everyone.
