Hill's Prescription Diet Canine s/d
Hill's Prescription Diet Canine s/d Cans is a complete veterinary diet specifically developed for the nutritional management of dogs with urinary tract disease.
This food contains traced ingredients designed to help resolve struvite crystals and stones in your dog.
Urinary tract disease in dogs is often caused by the formation of mineral-based crystals and stones in the urinary tract that can cause discomfort, bloody urine and even life-threatening obstruction. For dogs, struvite crystals generally cause urinary tract disease. Struvite forms as a result of urine that's saturated with protein, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium combined with an improper urine pH. This formula has increased level of sodium which encourages your dog to drink more water, increasing the urine volume and helping to minimise the urinary concentration of struvite- forming constituents. Urinary tract can benefit also from feduced magnesium, phosphorus and protein content which helps to cut down the number of bladder stones.
- complete diet for adult dogs with urinary tract disease
- high level of sodium helps increase urine volume and reduce bladder stones
- reduced magnesium, phosphorus and protein
- increases urinary PH to increase solubility of struvite
- great taste

does what it says on the tinDaisy our 4 year old pug had a bladder full of struvite stones our Vet recomended Hills SD as she said it was the best one to dissolve them 6 weeks later Daisys bladder is clear !! were thrilled as it now means no surgery i highly recomend
Appears to be doing what it saysMy dog has had to have 3 operations due to bladder stones. After the last op. the stones were sent to the U.S.A for analysis. She was then put on Hill's S/D diet. She's showing no outward signs of bladder stones and is healthy and happy. She loves the food although it would be nice to have a choice in flavours if it were possible and some S/D type dog treats too.
My female crossbreed suffers from bladder stones, had over 47 of them surgically removed March 2010, and more again in July 2011, vet said they are reoccuring. took a urine sample November 2011, crystals in her urine again. Put her on Hills S/D for 3 weeks, took her back NOTHING, ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING.
