Hill's Science Plan Canine Adult Large Breed Light Chicken
Hill's Science Plan Canine Adult Large Breed Light Chicken is a special food for adult large breed dogs who are neutered, less active, or prone to gaining weight.
What it’s for
Large breed dogs often tend to be less active than their smaller counterparts, meaning that it can be difficult to keep your pet at their ideal weight. If you suspect that your dog may be becoming overweight, it's a good idea to take them to the vet. They’ll check your furry friend’s weight and offer you advice on what to do.
If they’re a little heavier than they should be, the best way to help your pup to lose weight is through their food. A good quality meal that’s made especially for larger breeds will give your dog with all the nutrients they need. If your pet’s used to treats, feeding them a couple of biscuits from their daily meal allowance is an easy and guilt-free way to reward them. Encouraging your pal to move more, and going for regular walkies, will help them reach (and stick to!) their ideal weight. Exercise will become easier as your dog gets lighter, and their tasty dinner will continue to help them stay healthy and happy.
- provides great nutrition for neutered, inactive, or obesity-prone dogs
- addition of L-carnitine helps maintain muscle mass and burn fat
- vitamins and minerals help to keep bones strong and joints supple
- high fibre content makes them feel fuller for longer.
How it works
If your large-breed dog puts on weight easily, or isn't particularly active, it's important to offer a dinner that helps them keep to a healthy weight. This recipe is designed with added L-carnitine, which helps your dog to retain muscle mass while burning fat. This will help them to become lean and fit, making exercise easier (which will also make it easier to keep weight off – a win-win situation!). A high fibre content also helps to keep your dog feeling full between meals, making them less likely to notice that they're eating fewer calories.
Alongside its weight loss benefits, the food contains glucosamine and sulphates to maintain your dog's bones and joints. These substances form the building blocks of joint cartilage, helping your dog's joints to stay supple. This will keep your furry friend mobile so they can stay healthy as they mature.

So far so goodOur 11yr old lab has adjusted to this new food, he seems to like the food. Not sure if it’s because we’ve increased his portion size from his old food but he is more gassy. I think he is losing weight as well, but we won’t know until he goes back to the vets. He seems more active due to weight loss
Hills science plan adult light chickenI have used Hills dog meal for many years. I have had Labradors for over 50 years. I have never had a fat Labrador, mainly because Hills products provide the varieties of meal which I can tailor to suit the animals needs in respect of diet and age.

Hill's Science Plan Canine Adult Large Breed Light Chicken.I have a neutered Labrador and a Border Collie and they both love this food. Our Labrador is prone to putting on weight so our vet recommended Hill's Science Plan Canine Adult Large Breed Light Chicken. We have managed to control her weight much better since switching her to this food and both dogs are thriving on it. The price from Medicanimal cannot be beaten and the excellent delivery service(generally 1-2 days) means that I don't have to carry it home!!!
Woof! Woof! Wag! Wag!We've eaten this Hills diet food for ages now and we love it. When we have a doggy sleepover at our house, our canine friends love it too!
