James Wellbeloved Large Adult Dry Dog Food - Turkey & Rice
James Wellbeloved Dog Adult Large Breed Turkey & Rice is a hypoallergenic complete food ideal for adult dogs.
How it works
This product is free from pork, beef, wheat, wheat gluten, dairy and eggs, helping to reduce your dog’s contact with ingredients that are a common cause of irritation.
When your dog has an ingredient allergy, it means that their digestive system struggles to break down that particular ingredient. This formula is made using turkey as a single source of protein, which is easier on the stomach then chicken. Turkey is rich in protein but highly digestible, ensuring your dog gets the nutrients they need but that their stomach stays settled.
This complete formula is packed full of nutrients to prevent and protect your dog inside and out. Added prebiotics from dried chicory root encourage good bacteria in the gut to support your dog’s general wellbeing. Carbohydrates come from rice, oats and barley, which are a valuable source of energy and easy to digest. A balance of omega-3 fatty acids helps to support their skin and coat, which can become irritated after an allergic reaction.

When to use it
If your dog has an allergy to an ingredient in their food, it can seriously impact their quality of life. There are a few symptoms you can look out for if you think they might have an intolerance. Vomiting, diarrhoea, fever and a rash are all symptoms of allergy. You should consult your vet immediately if any of these symptoms occur.
James Wellbeloved is a complete formula designed to replace your dog’s regular food. Used daily, it can limit your pet's contact with dietary allergens, helping them to lead a healthy, happy life.

Feeding The Correct Amount
It is important to remember however that these figures are guidelines only, and there are several factors to be taken into account when assessing your pet’s nutritional requirements : -
- Activity level
- Temperament (stressed animals burn off more calories than relaxed ones)
- Metabolism (every animal is an individual with his or her own speed of metabolism; this means that 2 dogs of the same age, breed and weight could have different daily calorie requirements)
In order to provide the correct portions when feeding your dog or cat, it is also helpful to assess your pet’s appetite, visual appearance and stools. Whilst poo watching does not sound particularly pleasant, it is one of the best indicators of health. Increased frequency of passing faeces, production of large quantities of stools of loose motions are often frequent signs that an animal is receiving more food than he or she requires.
It is important to obtain an accurate weight for your cat or dog, and also to weigh out the food. Guessing on both accounts gives a large margin of error.
Changing Food Brands
For a successful diet change, we recommend following the feeding pattern below. The daily feeding amount should be split into two equal amounts and the proportions of new food increased over the first week as illustrated.
TOP TIPS: For those dogs who do not make eating a priority, here are some additional points:
- Reduce the number of tit-bits given during the introductory period
- If your dog has been used to eating wet food, moisten with warm water.
