Royal Canin Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie Adult Dry Dog Food
If your dog’s struggling with urinary problems, think about switching their food to Royal Canin Canine Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie, which helps to dissolve bladder stones while keeping your dog at a healthy weight.
What it’s for
Urinary conditions are caused by struvite stones, which form in your dog’s bladder and make it difficult for them to pee. It can be quite painful for your dog and, if not treated quickly, can lead to quite serious consequences. If you notice that your dog is having difficulty peeing, if their pee seems cloudy or bloody, or if they seem a bit tired, talk to your vet about treatments for urinary infections. Remember, sometimes urinary conditions don’t show any of these signs, so if you suspect that anything is wrong with your dog’s health, it’s always a good idea to talk to your vet.
They may advise you to switch your dog to Royal Canin Canine Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie, which helps to dissolve urinary stones and get your dog back to their healthy former self.
- makes your dog’s urine more acidic, which helps to dissolve struvite stones
- regulates the amount of magnesium in the bladder, making it less likely that more crystals will form
- low calorie formula helps overweight dogs to keep a healthy bodyweight during treatment.
How it works
Royal Canin Canine Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie attacks struvite stones in several key ways. Firstly, it makes your dog’s pee more acidic. That sounds quite serious, but what it actually means is that the pee will be so acidic that it will dissolve the struvite stones in your dog’s urinary tract. The food helps your dog to produce more urine, which lowers the concentration of struvite stone-forming crystals in their pee, making them less likely to get bladder stones and keeping them happy and healthy!
Veterinary diets like this one have been specially made to support pets with specific medical conditions. Because of this, they might not be suitable for all pets, so we'd recommend getting professional advice before feeding them to your pet. If you think your dog could benefit from eating Royal Canin Canine Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie, why not have a chat with your vet?
Royal Canin Canine Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie is a complete feed that helps dissolve bladder stones and stop their recurrence. The moderate calorie formula also helps your dog to maintain a healthy weight.
How it works
Royal Canin Canine Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie helps to dissolve struvite and calcium oxalate stones by acidifying the urine and controlling magnesium levels. A high urinary PH will assist in dissolving existing bladder crystals. Magnesium is a component of struvite, so by controlling your dog’s intake you can make it less likely for the stones to form.
If your dog's urine becomes saturated with certain minerals, it will be more prone to bladder stones. This formula helps to dilute the urine, making crystal formation less likely. Diluting the urine also flushes out the urinary tract helping to get rid of bacteria that can cause infection.
This reduced calorie formula is perfect for dogs who are prone to gaining weight. High protein levels encourage your pet to use fat as energy and promote more active lifestyle.
- acidifies the urine to help dissolve struvite and calcium oxalate stones
- controls magnesium levels in the urinary tract to prevent crystals from forming
- dilutes the urine to make recurrence of stones unlikely and flush out the bladder
- reduced calorie formula helps overweight dogs maintain a healthy weight.
When to use it
Struvite and calcium oxalate stones are dangerous to your dog’s health. They can block the urinary tract and cause bacteria build up and infection. It’s not always easy to recognise the symptoms of bladder stones, however there are a few things you can look out for. Difficulty urinating, bloody or cloudy urine and lethargy are all signs that your dog may have a urinary infection.
If you think your dog is suffering from urinary crystals, you should consult your vet for a full examination and diagnosis. Royal Canin Canine Urinary S/O Moderate Calorie can replace your dog’s regular food for the duration of their illness. Check the feeding guide to make sure you’re giving them the ideal amount for their size and weight and monitor their reaction closely. If you notice weight gain, adjust their daily feed.
Because veterinary diets are formulated for the nutritional support of pets with specific clinical conditions, we recommend that you only use them under professional advice. Great for dogs that are over weight..I am really happy with this product , this is the best food for my dogs needs
Veterinary dietMuch cheaper than from vet! Dog seems to really enjoy it
Great ProductMy 14 year old lab had bladder stones and now needs a special diet. We tried other "special prescription" diets for struvite stones but they upset her stomach and made her very smelly. This food is perfect . It agrees with her digestive system and she no longer smells. The moderate calorie is great as she can only do 30 minute walks so helps with weight management.
