James Wellbeloved Medium Adult Dry Food Dog - Duck & Rice
James Wellbeloved Dog Adult Duck and Rice is a hypoallergenic food developed to give your adult dog all the nutrients he or she needs to stay healthy.
How it works
If your dog has a skin or digestive sensitivity to certain ingredients, it can be difficult to find a food that agrees with them. This food has been created to cater for adult dogs of all types, but especially those with sensitivities or intolerances to standard foods. By using a single meat protein and eliminating the most common allergy causing ingredients..
The condition of your dog's coat is a major visual indicator of their state of health, so to keep it in top condition, this food contains plenty of omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids to maintain softness and shine. Added natural prebiotic chicory inulin encourages plenty of beneficial bacteria in your pet's gut, while yucca extract helps reduce stool odour.
- hypoallergenic ingredients help combat food sensitivities and intolerances
- omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids promote a healthy coat and skin
- added natural prebiotic chicory inulin encourages growth of healthy gut microflora
- yucca extract helps reduce stool odour.
When to use it
If your dog is intolerant or sensitive to their food, it can be difficult to identify which ingredient is causing the issue. You may find that your dog suffers from vomiting, diarrhoea and abdominal pain after eating, or has lost their appetite. With this in mind, it can seem daunting to embark on a trial and error diet to try and identify the offending ingredient and eliminate it from your pet's diet. The easiest and most stress free solution is to switch your dog's diet to one that has already eliminated all the usual allergens for you.
Use James Wellbeloved Dog Adult Duck and Rice for a period of three to eight weeks. if there are no signs of your dog's previous intolerances in this time, you can simply continue to use it.
If you're in any doubt about the best diet for your dog, or if they are suffering from chronic vomiting and diarrhoea, it is important to take them to the vet for treatment and advice.

Feeding The Correct Amount
It is important to remember however that these figures are guidelines only, and there are several factors to be taken into account when assessing your pet’s nutritional requirements : -
- Activity level
- Temperament (stressed animals burn off more calories than relaxed ones)
- Metabolism (every animal is an individual with his or her own speed of metabolism; this means that 2 dogs of the same age, breed and weight could have different daily calorie requirements)
In order to provide the correct portions when feeding your dog or cat, it is also helpful to assess your pet’s appetite, visual appearance and stools. Whilst poo watching does not sound particularly pleasant, it is one of the best indicators of health. Increased frequency of passing faeces, production of large quantities of stools of loose motions are often frequent signs that an animal is receiving more food than he or she requires.
It is important to obtain an accurate weight for your cat or dog, and also to weigh out the food. Guessing on both accounts gives a large margin of error.
Changing Food Brands
For a successful diet change, we recommend following the feeding pattern below. The daily feeding amount should be split into two equal amounts and the proportions of new food increased over the first week as illustrated.
TOP TIPS: For those dogs who do not make eating a priority, here are some additional points:
- Reduce the number of tit-bits given during the introductory period
- If your dog has been used to eating wet food, moisten with warm water.

Our dogs love this flavourJames Wellbeloved comes in different flavours, which is great as our fussy cockapoos get bored eating the same flavour every day. This is their favourite. They absolutely love it! But it is quite high in fat, so to avoid too much weight gain I mix it with lower calorie food. They don't seem to notice - down the hatch at top speed! :)
James WellbelovedThis food is brilliant our dogs get so excited when we give them the duck flavour. I would recommend this to everybody
Great for adult dogMy dog loves this particular food - the duck and rice has oval shaped, reasonably large kibble which he particularly likes.
