Product details

Royal Canin Veterinary Feline Fibre Response FR31 helps cats with long-term and serious constipation get back to normal.

What it's for

Constipation is pretty common in cats. As well as a clean litter box, other signs to look out for in your cat are tiredness, being sick, not eating much, losing weight and not grooming. They might also show signs of having a sore tummy, like swatting at you if you touch their belly. These can be symptoms of other conditions, too, so it's a good idea to pop into the vet as soon as you notice something's not right.

If you think your cat's constipated, pay attention to their toilet habits. Healthy cats should pass solids once a day. If they're constipated they might cry out or strain really hard while trying to use the litter box. They might also go to the litter box more often without actually doing anything while they're in there. Pay attention to their stools too. If they're small, dry and hard or covered with blood or mucous it means there's something wrong.

Key benefits

  • high fibre recipe passes through the digestive system quickly and easily
  • extra nutrients keep digestive system balanced and healthy
  • prebiotics encourage healthy bacteria in your cat's gut
  • proteins are easy to digest so your cat gets lots of nourishment
  • EPA/DHA long-chain fatty acids are good for digestion
  • antioxidants tackle free radicals helps soften stools
  • has all the nutrients your cat needs and can replace their normal food.

How it works

The food is high in fibre, perfect for battling constipation. It passes easily through their digestive system and on the way it picks up anything in there that's causing irritation. Because it passes through quickly, it’s specially formulated so that your cat gets all the nourishment they need in a shorter space of time.

It's packed with highly digestible proteins to keep them healthy along with extra vitamins too. It has EPA/DHA long chain fatty acids which keep the digestive system healthy, and prebiotics to make sure your cat's healthy gut bacteria flourish. There are also antioxidants in there: these tackle the free radical molecules that can damage your cat's healthy cells.

Veterinary diets like this one have been specially made to support pets with specific medical conditions. Because of this, they might not be suitable for all pets, so we'd recommend getting professional advice before feeding them to your pet. If you think your cat could benefit from eating Royal Canin Veterinary Feline Fibre Response FR31, why not have a chat with your vet?

  • Brilliant stuff
My boy suffered from severe constipation when l got him as a rescue cat. The wee soul was in agony..l started him on fibre response which he loves & the difference to him was amazing. He doesn't strain & goes regularly & is much more lively. Hes been on it for a couple of years but l now have to give half/half of royal canin urinary so because he had crystals , he eats the mixture happily

  • Fibre Response
Since purchasing this product my cats life has changed for the better. Being a rescue cat she does not like soft food and will only eat dry cat food, probably having been brought up this way since a kitten. The problem was constipation but with the help of Fibre Response we have not looked back and she is a very happy cat. I would thoroughly recommend this product for any cat with constipation problems.

  • Ode to a happy cat
I am so delighted to have discovered Royal Canin Feline Fibre Response. before starting him on this my cat's constipation had become so severe that I even considered putting him to sleep. Every few weeks he had to have his bowels emptied, he was constantly crying and straining and soiling himself. So very distressing. As a last resort a year ago, after reading reviews, I started him on this food and since then he has not been to the vets once. He poos regularly, does not strain and is even off lactulose. I feed him a little fibre response daily, along with other dry food and some wet. It took a while to get the balance correct but there is no going back.
